3.0 out of 5

Quick Verdict

Myriad is the most consumer-shaped of the crypto-native prediction markets: real event breadth, free maker orders, $3 minimum deposits, card and Apple Pay on-ramps, and a media parent (DASTAN/Decrypt) built to put markets inside content. Its restricted-jurisdictions list — which names the US explicitly and bans VPN workarounds — is the cleanest compliance posture among the offshore venues we cover, and the reason it edges close to its 3.0/5 despite having the smallest verified traction: no license, no independent volume data, discretionary referral payouts, and settlement on a young stablecoin all cap it there. For non-US casual traders who value breadth and ease over depth, it is a reasonable venue to know; for US investors it is explicitly closed.

Strengths

  • Clean restricted-jurisdiction posture: an explicit named list (including the US) with VPN use prohibited — no gray zone
  • Non-custodial by design: funds sit in a ThirdWeb-powered wallet or the market smart contract, never with Myriad
  • Maker orders are free and earn rebates from taker fees; limit orders also carry the highest points weight

Weaknesses

  • No regulator anywhere — Cayman foundation interface, offshore settlement
  • Smallest verified traction of the venues we review — a $10M USDC volume milestone was recent news in its own parent outlet's coverage; no independent volume series exists
  • Referral rewards are "distributed periodically … at the team's discretion" — no contractual payout terms

What Is Myriad?

Myriad is a prediction market launched in 2025 by DASTAN, the holding company created by the merger of Decrypt Media and Rug Radio — which makes it the rare venue in this category owned by a media group and designed for distribution first: markets embedded into articles, social surfaces, and content experiences, not just a standalone trading app. Shares trade between $0 and $1 and settle at $1 or $0, on a hybrid engine: a central limit order book (added in its 2026 upgrade) alongside AMM markets.

The interface is operated by Myriad Foundation (Grand Cayman). Funds are non-custodial — in a ThirdWeb-powered wallet or the market smart contract, never with Myriad — and Season 3 runs on BNB Smart Chain with USD1 settlement, points or real-money markets depending on your country.

The Product, Verified (Checked July 30, 2026)

The following comes from Myriad's own documentation and live app, not press coverage:

  • Maker-friendly fee design. Maker orders incur no fees, currently earn 100% fee rebates, and carry the highest weight in the weekly MYR points distribution. Takers pay a price-dependent fee peaking at 50¢ and decaying linearly to zero at the extremes; AMM markets charge 0–2% on buys, and the app adds a flat $0.0085 per transaction for gas.
  • Documented referral program. Up to 33% of referred users' fees plus seasonal points, self-serve via a portfolio link or per-market "Share to Earn" links — with distribution "at the team's discretion" per the docs, which is the clause that keeps our expectations modest.
  • Builder monetization. Frontend fees via API helpers plus whitelist-gated on-chain builder codes paying up to the per-market distributor fee (typically 1%) on eligible buys — buys only, not sells or claims.
  • Accessible on-ramps. USD1 transfers on BNB Chain, or crypto and cash (cards, Apple Pay, Venmo) via MoonPay, from a $3 minimum; balances display in plain USD.

Scale and the Media-Parent Question

We hold Myriad to the same numbers standard as every venue, and the numbers are small: a $10M cumulative USDC volume milestone was recent enough to be news in Decrypt's own coverage, and no independent volume series exists for it. Its 2026 momentum signals are real but not volume: a seed round in March 2026 (participants reported include MoonPay and Fundstrat's Tom Lee), a World Cup contest vertical, the CLOB upgrade, and the BNB Chain migration with USD1 settlement.

The ownership deserves a direct statement: Myriad's parent also owns a crypto news outlet. That is disclosed and there is nothing hidden about it, but a market operator that also publishes industry coverage is a structure readers should evaluate for themselves — we treat DASTAN's media reach as a distribution advantage and a governance question at the same time, and we do not use Decrypt's coverage as an independent source about Myriad anywhere in this review.

Regulatory Status: The Critical Fact

Myriad has no license in any jurisdiction. What it does have — and most offshore venues do not — is an explicit restricted-jurisdictions list for real-money trading: the United States, France, Singapore, Switzerland, Malta, Ontario (Canada), and a set of sanctioned or high-risk jurisdictions, with VPN circumvention prohibited outright. There is no KYC-based investor protection regime behind that list, no 1099 or other tax reporting anywhere, and resolution/dispute processes are not fully documented publicly. For European readers: ESMA confirmed in July 2026 that retail binary-options restrictions apply to event contracts qualifying as financial instruments; sports- and politics-only contracts generally fall to national gambling regimes — and France, notably, is already on Myriad's own restricted list. Nothing here is investment advice.

Who Myriad Is For

Appropriate for:

  • Non-US casual traders who want event breadth — politics, sports, crypto, culture — with tiny minimums and familiar payment rails
  • Limit-order traders — free maker orders with rebates and the highest points weight
  • Builders and content platforms — the embed/API/builder-code surface is the product's actual thesis

NOT appropriate for:

  • US investors — explicitly restricted by Myriad's own terms
  • Size traders — verified traction is the smallest in our coverage, and depth follows volume
  • Anyone needing contractual reward terms — referral distribution is discretionary
  • Tax-simplicity seekers and USDC purists — no reporting, USD1/USDT settlement

Myriad FAQ

Who is behind Myriad?
Two layers, both worth knowing. The project was launched in 2025 by DASTAN — the holding company formed from the merger of Decrypt Media and Rug Radio — which makes Myriad the rare prediction market owned by a media group, built to embed markets inside content. The interface itself is operated by Myriad Foundation, a Grand Cayman entity, per its Terms of Use. We flag the structure plainly: a market owned by a company that also publishes industry news is unusual, even if the ownership is disclosed.
Can US users trade on Myriad?
No — and unlike most offshore venues, Myriad says so explicitly. Its Terms of Use name a restricted-jurisdictions list that includes the United States (alongside France, Singapore, Switzerland, Malta, Ontario, and others) for real-money contract trading, and prohibit VPN circumvention outright. The app itself notes that points markets versus real-money markets are offered depending on your country. That clean exclusion posture is genuinely better for readers than the "you figure out if it's legal" terms common offshore.
What does Myriad charge?
Makers: nothing — limit orders incur no fees, currently earn 100% fee rebates, and even carry the highest weight in the seasonal points program. Takers pay a price-dependent fee that peaks at 50¢ probability and decays linearly to zero toward the extremes, with the exact amount shown before every order. AMM markets charge 0–2% on buys depending on the market, and the app adds a flat $0.0085 per transaction for BNB Chain gas. Deposits start at $3.
Does Myriad have a referral program?
Yes, and it is documented in the official docs: sharing your portfolio link or a market's "Share to Earn" link earns up to 33% of the fees your referred traders pay, plus seasonal points. The important fine print, quoted directly: rewards "are distributed periodically into your Myriad Account directly at the team's discretion" — there are no contractual payout terms. A separate, whitelist-gated builder-code program pays integrators up to the per-market distributor fee (typically 1%) on eligible buys.
What is USD1 and why does Myriad use it?
USD1 is the stablecoin Myriad uses for on-chain settlement on BNB Smart Chain (the app also lists USDT-denominated markets, and balances display in plain USD). Practical implications for a trader: your exposure includes a young stablecoin rather than the USDC most crypto venues settle in, and moving in and out goes through BNB Chain or MoonPay's ramps (cards, Apple Pay, Venmo). Deposits below the $3 minimum queue until the threshold is met.
How big is Myriad?
Small, and we say so with numbers where they exist: a $10M cumulative USDC volume milestone was recent enough to be news in Decrypt's own coverage, and no independent monthly volume series exists for the platform the way DeFiRate tracks Limitless or trackers cover Polymarket and Kalshi. What it has instead is distribution: DASTAN embeds markets into Decrypt content and social surfaces, a World Cup contest vertical ran in 2026, and its docs court AI-agent and builder integrations. Watch whether distribution converts into volume.
